Water Break

The hike to Lake Angeline is about 6 miles each way, but the killer part is gaining 2,500 feet of elevation along the way. There were a lot of water breaks. Трансляция проекта Fotorss.ru. |

Keep Honking

Tonight, I was the last person to arrive for the final exam and the last to leave. Summer break begins today! After class, I was able to get the ailing black car over to the mechanic's place without any of the horrible metallic screeching it made all the way home on Friday. I waited until tonight to drive it over in order to avoid yet another breakdown* at an inconvenient time, since my last one came during rush hour, while I was in the right hand lane of eastbound Leesburg Pike in Tyson's Corner when my car decide to turn itself off. Yes, yes, last October, I was that person who ruined your commute by blocking a lane of traffic. Of course, I might have been able to move my car out of the way if more than one guy had offered to help me push it. Instead, most drivers chose to honk their horn at me, as if that would cause my car to come back to life. KEEP HONKING KIDS, AND MY CAR MY COME BACK TO LIFE, JUST LIKE TINKERBELL. Walking To Do

As I pulled out of the parking lot this afternoon, I heard the sound. It was a periodic metallic screeching that modulated with the speed of the car. As I drove towards home, thinking "Please, please, just get me home" the sounds became pretty familiar. At higher speeds, it was a little less grating, but still present. I've heard something like this before from this car. Last year, I heard a similar groaning and screeching from my car before the calipers were replaced by a mechanic at a nearby garage. I'm pretty sure that one of my break calipers is not disengaging properly after I release the breaks, which is causing one of the break pads to wear down from constant contact with the wheel. I think it may be time for another car, I think my patience with this one is entirely spent. Трансляция проекта Fotorss.ru. |

Fill In The Bright Lights

I had the pleasure of shooting Sonya and Zach's wedding over the weekend at a vineyard in Virginia. I've had a chance to look through the photos a bit and overall I'm happy with how they turned out, especially considering that there wasn't a cloud in the sky that day. From the long shadows above, you can see how harsh and bright the sun was throughout the ceremony and the reception. Fortunately, I was able to use fill flash to add another light source, or most of my photos would have been either half in shadow, silhouettes or of people squinting into the sun. I haven't quite finished uploading everything from the wedding yet, but I have posted some of the photos on Flickr for those who want to see them. Трансляция проекта Fotorss.ru. |
